Fake TV Commercials

This one from a recent Glee episode...

... reminded me of this classic from Supernatural:

Quote of the Day: Twisted

From the pilot:

[Danny has spent the last five years in juvie. Now he's out, and he's having a hard time fitting in at his high school.]

Regina: This school is actually very friendly.

Danny: Clearly. I feel like I'm in an episode of Glee and everyone's about to break out in song.

Regina: They let you watch Glee in prison?

Danny: It's part of our punishment.

Oh, Glee

Glee can be, well, stupid. But when they do something right, it's awesome.

I'm currently obsessing over their rendition of "Smooth Criminal" (as a duet, with two cellos as the only accompaniment).

Quote of the Day: Tumblr (?)

Found on Life is good & bad, looks like it was re-blogged from "gleetroll":

It’s cute how Glee does that little "and that’s what you missed on Glee" thing.
It’s like they think there’s a plot we need to follow.

Quote of the Day: Chris Colfer

From his twitter:

"Dear owls mating outside my window, I appreciate being an aphrodisiac for you, but unless you have a letter from Hogwarts, please fly away."

Quote of the Day: Glee

From "Extraordinary Merry Christmas" (3.09):

Rory: These bells make me homesick.

Sam: You mean like church bells and stuff?

Rory: No. My brother Seamus gets lost all the time, so my dad made him wear a bell around his neck so we can always find him.

Sam: Smart.

Quote of the Day: Glee

From "Hold On to Sixteen" (3.08):

[Kurt thinks Sebastian is getting a little too close to his (Kurt's) boyfriend, Blaine.]

Kurt: I don't like you.

Sebastian: Fun. I don't like you either.

Kurt: I don't like the way you talk to my boyfriend. I don't like your smirky little meerkat face. I don't like your obnoxious CW hair. I'm on to you.

Sebastian: Let's get a few things straight: Blaine's too good for you, New Directions is a joke, and one of us has a hard luck case of the 'Gay Face' and it ain't me. Odds are by the end of the school year, I'll have Blaine and a Nationals trophy, and you'll have khakis and a Lima Bean [coffee shop] apron and that gay face.

Kurt:
You smell like Craigslist.

Quote of the Day: Glee

From "Funeral" (2.21), here's Jesse:

"I took a class at UCLA in judging for reality TV shows, so I'm totally ready to give feedback that's both blistering and unhelpful."

Quote of the Day: Glee

From "Funeral" (episode 2.21):

Howard:
Do I get a super villain nickname?

Sue: Your nickname is Panda Express.

Howard: But I'm not Chinese.

Sue: Neither is the food at Panda Express.

Quote of the Day: AfterEllen

From the recap of the Glee season finale:

"Excuse me while I crank up my suspension of disbelief. And I know you're all going, wow, she really hated this episode, but honestly, I didn't. I enjoy suspending disbelief. I watched Xena: Warrior Princess for seven seasons. They got to China from ancient Greece in like, three days. Suspension of disbelief is one of my favorite things."

Quote of the Day: Glee

From Rachel in the episode "Prom Queen" (episode 2.20):

"When I'm done rehearsing, I'd like your feedback. Tell me if I was brilliant or simply outstanding."

Quote of the Day: Glee

From "Sexy" (episode 2.15):

[Brittany wants to clarify her relationship with Santana.]

Santana: Look, let's be clear here. I'm not interested in any labels, unless it's on something I shoplift.

Brittany:
I don't know. Santana, I think we should talk to somebody, like an adult. This relationship is really confusing for me.

Santana: Breakfast is confusing for you.

Brittany: Well, sometimes it's sweet, sometime it's salty. Like, what if I have eggs for dinner? Then what is it?

Quote of the Day: Glee

From "Special Education" (episode 2.09):

Rachel:
Do you ever fantasize about your own funeral?

Kurt: No.

Rachel:
I do. Finn throwing himself into the grave out of grief and all of the heartfelt speeches and regrets.

Kurt:
That's insane.

Rachel:
Clearly, no one in the Glee Club appreciates me. Is it so wrong for me to fantasize about them finally realizing how amazing I am, but it being too late?

Some Geek for the Weekend

Cake Wrecks did a fun mixed-up scifi post.

Doctor Who monsters out on the town. (I like #2 best. It looks like a Cyberman on holiday!)

Seattle Daleks....

And finally, this is just fun:

Heather Morris

Apparently Heather Morris ("Brittany" on Glee) auditioned for So You Think You Can Dance. She didn't make it to the Top 20 that season, but the video is, of course, on YouTube:

Quote of the Day: Glee

From tonight's episode, "The Rocky Horror Glee Show" (episode 2.05):

"You know, Halloween is fast approaching. The day when parents encourage little boys to dress like little girls and little girls to dress like whores, and go door to door brow-beating hard working Americans into giving them free food.”

— Sue Sylvester

Quote of the Day: Glee

Tomorrow is the season finale of Glee. It's a very uneven show, but I still like it. This quote is from "Sectionals" (episode 1.13):

Will: [angrily] Sue! What kind of teacher are you?

Sue:
Oh, hey, buddy. I just came by to feed my venus flytrap!

Will: You leaked the set list, and you are not going to get away with it!

Sue: That is a libelous accusation, and I insist you retract it immediately! You have no proof.

Will: No proof? You are the only person who had the list!

Sue: But other than that, you have no proof.

[later]

Principal Figgins:
Sue, the directors -- both from the Jane Addams Academy and Haverbrook School for the Deaf -- have informed me that you gave them the New Directions' set list.

Sue:
You have no proof.

Principal Figgins: The set lists were on [the cheerleaders'] letterhead.

Sue: I didn't do it.

Principal Figgins:
They say, "From the desk of Sue Sylvester."

Sue: Circumstantial evidence.

Principal Figgins: They're written in your handwriting!

Sue:
Forgeries.

Principal Figgins: Sue, there is an orgy of evidence stacked against you!

Sue:
Well, you've clearly made up your mind not to be impartial in this case.

Quote of the Day: Glee

From "Throwdown" (episode 1.7):

Finn: I figured we should name our kid something more original and poetic. Then I came up with the best baby name of all time: Drizzle!

Quinn: Drizzle?

Finn: Yeah, yeah, 'cause you know how awesome it is when it's just drizzling outside, but it's not really rain, so it smells like rain but you don't need an umbrella to go outside...

Quinn: Are you a moron?
