Pam: Who's the human?
Dr. Finn: How about me? What value do you place on my life?

Customer: Hi, I'm looking for that thick translucent plastic sheeting. The kind that they hang in front of the doors of walk-in refrigerators.
Tara: Uh... We don't sell that here. You can try at Home Depot.
Customer: I tried them already; they sent me here.
Tara: Ahhh....
Customer: Now, I cannot believe you don't have that here. Oh, I don't even know what it's called!
Tara: Sorry.
Customer: But you're supposed to have everything!
Tara: Well, we don't have that stuff. That you don't even know what it's called.
Customer: Your website says that this is the most well-stocked store in five parishes! I just drove over an hour from Marthaville --
Tara: Uh-huh. Does our website have a phone number?
Customer: Well, I suppose it does --
Tara: So it never occurred to you -- before you drove an hour -- to pick up a phone and call us to see if we stocked whatever-the-hell-it-is you're looking for?

Quote of the Day: Kristin Bauer van Straten
Kristin Bauer van Straten plays Pam on True Blood. Her character often speaks Swedish with Alexander Skarsgård's character, Eric. Both he and his character are Swedish. Van Straten grew up in Wisconsin.
From this intereview:
AfterEllen: So do you speak Swedish in real life, or is that something you had to adapt for the parts where you and Eric are speaking that?
Kristen Bauer van Straten: Yeah, that was something I had to do for the part and it's nerve-wracking, but it's really fun. I just have to memorize consecutive sounds, so for me it's just gibberish. I have no idea what I'm saying! I'm just trusting that Alex isn't messing with me. That's where I get it! They write it in English and I call Alex in a panic and he records it for me. And he's all day long on set, you know, the poor guy has a whole scene to shoot and all day long, after every take, I don't look at the director, I look at him and go "Yes? No?"

I'm almost done watching season 2 on DVD. Which is sad, really, because I don't know when I'll get season 3. And season 4 won't even air on HBO until next summer!

[Eric (a vampire) has come to rescue Sookie from the bad guys.]
Eric: I could have you out of here in seconds.
Sookie: There's kids out there.
Eric: The other humans wouldn't think twice about hurting us.
Sookie: Why didn't you bring Bill with you?
Eric: His attachment to you is irrational. It clouds his judgment. He would kill every child in this church to save you.
Sookie: Why aren't you?
Eric: I'm following Godric's orders and getting you out. That's all.
Sookie: He's your maker, isn't he?
Eric: Don't use words you don't understand.
Sookie: You have a lot of love for him.
Eric: Don't use words I don't understand.
