Quote of the Day: Dead Like Me
From "Curious George" (1.03):
George: What would happen if everybody died?
Mason: What do you mean?
George: Like if we were the only ones left.
Mason: Oh, like if the frogs ate everyone on the planet?
George: Yeah.
Mason: I reckon we'd be shoveling a lot of frog shit.

From "Hurry" (2.05):
Gollum: May I ask you a question?
George: That is a question. Would you like to ask me another one?

Quote of the Day: Dead Like Me
From "Send in the Clown" (2.01):
[Mason, George, and Rube are all grim reapers.]
Mason: Nah, five deaths is not a disaster.
George: How many deaths is a disaster?
Mason: More than five. Five's bullshit.
George: How many?
Mason: 16 to 20: disaster. 21 and up: catastrophe. 8 to 15 is a calamity.
Rube: 7 and under?
Mason: That's a cryin' shame.

Quote of the Day: Dead Like Me
From the pilot:
[George is dead. Rube is her grim reaper.]
George: So what's next? Onward and upward?
Rube: Onward not upward. No pearly gates for you, no choirs of angels neither.
George: You dick! You're sending me to hell?!
Rube: Don't flatter yourself. You're not that interesting.

I Miss "Pushing Daisies"
Bryan Fuller has created three TV shows I enjoy. (I think the only other person with that sort of track record is Joss "Buffy/Angel/Firefly/Dr. Horrible/Dollhouse" Whedon.)
The first I saw was actually the last: Pushing Daisies. Later I watched (on DVD) his oldest, Dead Like Me. Recently I (finally!) tracked down the one that came in between: Wonderfalls. (Thank you, Sno-Isle Library System!)
I'm really enjoying Wonderfalls, but it does make me miss Pushing Daisies.
So, here's an adorable bit from an early episode, featuring the amazing Kristin Chenoweth:
[Boo, hiss: I can't find one that embeds. Click here.]

Quote of the Week
From Dead Like Me:
[George is at meeting led by a pompous security consultant. He shows a slide showing the word "ripof".]
George: [to herself] "Rip-of"?
security consultant: You gotta a problem with that, [George]?
George: You misspelled "ripoff". [You] dropped an "f".
security consultant: Oh, I see. We have ourselves a smart-ass.
George: Don't you mean "smart-as"?

Quote of the Week
Last week the SciFi channel aired a marathon of Dead Like Me. It originally aired on Showtime (which I don't get) but I remember thinking it sounded interesting. I taped the marathon and have been watching it this last week -- and I like it!
The cast includes several actors that I know from other things, including Mandy Patinkin. Of course, when I think of Mandy Patinkin, I think of The Princess Bride:
Inigo: You seem a decent fellow; I hate to kill you.
Westley: You seem a decent fellow; I hate to die.
