Reality Overload
This fall, for the first time ever, my four favorite reality shows are all going to be on air. They are (in order of favoritism): So You Think You Can Dance, Project Runway, The Amazing Race, and Dancing with the Stars.
I may skip this season of DWTS. I'll be getting my dance quota from SYTYCD (which has better dancers and a bigger variety of dances) and there's no one I'm super-interested to see this season.

DWTS
I really enjoyed tonight's episode. After last week's elimination, the remaining dancers are my favorites (Shawn, Ty, and Lil Kim) plus two dancers I don't love, but think are nice enough (Gilles, Melissa). It was so nice not to have anyone left who I find totally annoying!
Plus, the only dance tonight that I didn't enjoy was Melissa's Viennese Waltz. And that's not her fault; I hate the Viennese Waltz.

Mwa-ha-ha!
I'm watching Dancing with the Stars this season, but on fast-forward. That way, I can skip the boring/awful/unwatchable parts.
Tonight was the second elimination and it was awesome. The completely loathesome Denise Richards and the annoying Holly Madison ended up in the bottom two, despite the fact that their scores put them at 3rd and 4th from the bottom, respectively. When they did their "dance off", Denise Richards got a better score than Holly. But when the new scores were combined with the votes, Denise got voted off! That means that the cable TV reality-show chick got more votes than the movie "star". Hee!
I'm no fan of Holly's, but she has a much better attitude than Denise, and therefore is mildly watchable.

Quote of the Week
From Kim's recap of Dancing with the Stars:
"Carrie Ann made Susan yell that she's doing good, which still hurts my ears. Because it should have been that's she's doing well, and also because she wasn't."

I'm Annoyed With Dancing....
Dancing with the Stars, that is.
My annoyance primarily lies with how the judges are treating Warren. I usually enjoy his dances, but I think the judges are waaayyy over-scoring him. He's fun, and he does a pretty good job, but he's not that much better than everyone else.
I'm also frustrated because I think they're treating Warren much differently than they treated Marissa last season. Warren and Marissa are both larger than average people, but Warren seems to get a lot of "Gee, we didn't know a big guy could move so well" comments, and Marissa didn't.
Maybe I'm being overly sensitive, but it feels like a double standard to me.

Squeeee!!!!!!
On tonight's Dancing with the Stars, there was much awesomeness. First, Apolo & Julianne's quickstep and Mel & Maks' paso doble were picked as two of the best DWTS dances ever. Awesome! I loved them both.
Then Apolo & Julianne and Mel & Maks came back and danced new dances. Awesome! Unfortunately, this was slightly marred by the fact that they were dancing to a band (Rascal Flatts) that I hate. But still -- awesome!
And then, my two favorites from this season -- Marissa and Kristi -- were both safe! AWESOME! I thought for sure that Marissa was going to be eliminated, so I literally gasped when her name was called.

Quote of the Week
I really do like "Dancing with the Stars". It's so delightfully cheesy!
Here's a quote from Kim's weecap:
Priscilla is wearing [a] seafoam green [dress], and I noticed many of the waltz ladies are wearing pastels this week. When they stand together, they look like the ill-advised pastel rainbow bridesmaid's dresses my second cousins had when she got married in 1976. You know -- each bridesmaid wore a different color of the rainbow? Except there was also a Bicentennial theme, so they were like Little House dresses? And everyone wore bonnets? How I wish I were making this up. I was the flower girl.

Dancing with the Stars
I was totally planning on not watching the next season of "Dancing with the Stars".
I never planned on watching it in the first place, but two seasons ago I became obsessed with Apolo Anton Ohno and his partner Julianne Hough. They were so awesome and they completely deserved their win. I ended up watching last season, too, and was disappointed when Helio won instead of Mel B, so I told myself I wouldn't watch the next season.
But....
Marlee Matlin! Kristi Yamaguchi!! How can I stay away from them??!???!?!??
Oh well.

TV Annoyances
I've got two right now...
First of all, I'm bummed Helio won DWTS. When it got down to Helio, Mel, and Marie, I thought that as long as Marie didn't win, I would be happy. But when they called Helio's name, I discovered that I was disappointed. I guess I was subconsciously rooting for Mel.
Secondly, Lifetime, in its infinite, Fox-like wisdom, has decided that the season (and, I assume, series) finale of Blood Ties should only be available online. Yes, that's right, they're not going to air it on their network. I can only watch it online. That's annoying for several reasons, but the thing that bugs me the most is that I can't record it.
Boo! Hiss!

Boo! Yay! & Boo!
Boo! Veronica Mars has been cancelled. What is the CW thinking? I know it didn't get the best ratings, but it was their only show with any sort of critical praise. Grrr.....
Yay! Apolo won Dancing with the Stars!
Boo! My computer is freaking out again. I'm having the same problem I had a month ago, where I can't drag-and-drop. I have officially decided I need a new computer. Unfortunately, I can't afford one. My best bet is Santa Claus....

Dancing With The Stars
This week is the finale! I think one of the reasons I'm so obsessed with this show (other than the awesomeness of Apolo) is that I wouldn't mind if any of the three final teams won. Apolo & Julianne are my favorites, of course -- I voted fifteen times! -- but I think Laila & Maks and Joey & Kym are also good. It's fun to watch a reality show and know that I won't be horribly disappointed with the outcome. Don't get me wrong, I really want Apolo & Julianne to win, and I absolutely think they deserve to. But the other two teams are good, too.

Quote of the Week
I'm currently obsessed with Dancing with the Stars (specifically, Apolo Anton Ohno on DWtS). This quote is from Kim's TWoP recap:
"Anyway, when we return, Tom introduces George Lopez and pimps his show (that's still on?), and then my local affliliate cuts in to tell me there are thunderstorms in the area. Really? Because I couldn't tell by the rain, thunder, and lightening going on outside. Thanks for that, guys."
