Company Map
This map shows the most famous corporate brand from each state. (Click on the map to make it larger.) What's fascinating to me is that I don't recognize ~10 of them. And, of course, there are lots of brands that I know that aren't on the map.
But McDonald's and Target and Pepsi must be like Microsoft: they come from a state where something else is more famous.

Not counting illegible Delaware and RI, there's six I don't recognize, and most of those are from the West! I think Pepsi is from NC. I'm surprised BofA has them beat.
After I posted, I was trying to find the original, and apparently there is some argument about whether or not the map is entirely accurate. Still interesting, though.
