John: Remember what they told you. Don't try to be clever. And please, just keep it simple and brief.
Sherlock: [sarcastically] God forbid the star witness in the trial should come across as intelligent!
John: "Intelligent", fine. Let's give "smart ass" a wide berth.
Sherlock: I'll just be myself.
John: Are you listening to me?!?!
