Quote of the Day: Geno Auriemma
During the National Championship game on 4/9/13, ESPN reporter Holly Rowe interviewed UConn coach Geno Auriemma during the second half, when UConn was ahead of Louisville by 19 points:
Holly Rowe: Coach, a few minutes ago you gave kind of a recipe in the huddle, to not allow a comeback: no three's, no second-chance points, and no fouls. How are they doing so far in that?
Geno Auriemma: We're doing great down there [on the defensive end]. What I forgot to tell them is: pass the ball to my guys. And stop throwing the ball away. It's unbelievable what we've just done in the last five minutes. I don't even know what to say; I'm speechless!
Holly Rowe: That never happens! Coach, tell me how you can get Breanna Stewart even more touches down the stretch. She seems like she's in such a good place.
Geno Auriemma: We can't get her touches because we ... We don't have any ... We can't run offenses because we're throwing the ball to the other team!
