I've Missed These Types of Posts....

It's been SUCH a long time since a game like last night's. I can't think of any other wins from this season that were this awesome. In 2011 there was Sue Bird's buzzer beater against Connecticut, that was pretty good. And 2010 was full of them.

But 2012? Not so much.

Until last night! So much fun stuff....

According to ESPN's Mechelle Voepel, Lauren Jackson thought we were down four at the end of regulation: "[Jackson's] shot swished, and KeyArena -- always one of the noisier places in the WNBA -- went nuts. It was then that Jackson realized, 'Oh, wait, we're still alive!' Because she actually wasn't fully aware of the score when she launched that 3-pointer. 'To be honest, I thought we were four down,' Jackson said. 'I just shot it. It was the only shot that felt good all game.' "

The WNBAlien column: "[Coach] Agler drew up another play in another timeout, but strong Minnesota defense – in a zone for one of the rare occasions all night – had the set virtually nullified. Then the ball went to Tanisha Wright on the wing, and her ball fake to the corner saw [Maya] Moore leave her completely alone. Moore never should’ve left, especially as Camille Little was the player in the corner, and Wright calmly knocked down the three to tie the game. For a 19% three-point shooter on the season, who had turned down a wide open triple earlier in the game that illustrated her lack of confidence out there, it was a hell of a shot. Even if Moore had left her in acres of space to take it."

And finally, Jayda Evans has some post-game notes: "Storm fans may be bopping into work on Monday, hoarse but ecstatic about a 86-79 double-overtime playoff win against Minnesota at KeyArena on Sunday."
