A Little Closer than I'd Like, but the Right Result

Tonight's game went from looking like a blowout (the Storm were up by 19 at halftime), to being a close game that had us on our feet for the last couple of minutes.

Lauren Jackson was back in action. She only played eleven minutes, but scored 11 points, and had a steal and a block. Not bad! With those 11 points, she joined the elite "6000 point" club that includes teammates Katie Smith and Tina Thompson, plus retired player Lisa Leslie.

It's actually pretty cool that LJ hit 6000 points tonight, and last game Tina Thompson hit 7000. And I was there for both!

But back to tonight's game....

Like I said, it looked like a blowout by halftime. But in the third quarter San Antonio went on a tear, and several times had it down to five. In the fourth quarter the Storm put a little more cushion back, only for the Silver Stars to pull within four with 30 seconds left. By that point, though, they had to start fouling, and the Storm players made (most) of their shots, so we held on to win 84-75.

Fun game to end the season with!

(OK, yes, the season's not over yet. They play at Phoenix on Monday, and then the playoffs start. But this was the last home game of the regular season, so it FELT like the end of the season.)
