Game 4: Czech Republic vs. USA
The Czech Republic had a hot start, going on a 10-0 run at the beginning of the game. They even led at the end of the first quarter. But then the Americans took over, and won 88-61.
I'm starting to get to the point where I want to hit the mute button during the games. The play-by-play announcer is fine, but Ann Meyers Drysdale is awful, and their court-side reporter is worse. In two different games, Meyers Drysdale has mentioned Candace Parker winning a WNBA title. THIS NEVER HAPPENED.
That sort of nonsense makes me start to hate Candace Parker again, but then she was awesome during the end-of-game interview, and I remembered it's not her fault that the media is obsessed with her. (In the interview, the dreadful court-side reporter asked her what her favorite dunk was. She said, "donut". He was confused, so she mimed dunking a donut in coffee. Ha!)
In other news, Lauren Jackson got to meet Prince William and Kate Middleton. (Last picture in the gallery.)
