Game 3: Turkey vs. USA

The U.S. had control of this game pretty much the whole way through. Turkey made a run here and there, but that's it. Final score: 89-58.

I've noticed something: the really cool fast break plays usually seem to involve either Sue Bird and Diana Taurasi or Lindsay Whalen/Seimone Augustus/Maya Moore. Hmmm.... I think I see a pattern.

Speaking of Maya Moore, one of the many things I love about her is that when she's on the bench, and her team has a good play, she immediately jumps off the bench and bounces up and down. If she's really excited, she'll spin her towel around, too. Other players will get up, too, but she's always the first, and always the most excited. Adorable!

The other big Olympic news was that Lauren Jackson surpassed Lisa Leslie's record for points scored. At first it was reported that she had the all-time record, but people who are smarter than NBC and FIBA pointed out that a player named Janeth Arcain still had more points. LJ will almost certainly surpass Arcain in a game or two, but -- being LJ -- she doesn't care. She's just happy that Australia beat Brazil today.
