Quote of the Day: Lisa Brummel

Lisa Brummel is one of the owners of the Seattle Storm. Here's some stories from the Storm's current road trip:

We started our journey early Monday morning on the 8:40 a.m. flight from Seattle to Washington. After the nice win at home on Sunday, everyone was in pretty good spirits although they were plenty tired from the early morning wake-up call. I got to the gate a little bit after the team but found them all in the boarding area hanging out, having breakfast, texting, and trying to keep themselves loose in prep for a long cross country flight. To give you some idea of the “glamour” of team travel – all 6-4 of Ann Wauters was poured into a middle seat for the 4.5-hour flight east (thank goodness it was bulkhead at least). Once most of our folks were on the plane, we were joined by the Mystics, who were on our same flight. The passengers who didn’t really know women’s basketball were quite perplexed by the non-stop flow of really tall women. Everyone settled in pretty quickly and I think most everyone was asleep before takeoff. I, however, spent the entire flight working on my day job, so I was slightly more cranky than the players by the time we landed! Most awake for an 8:40 a.m. flight – Ewa Kobryn. Most frequently overheard from passengers – “Was that Sue Bird?”
