I Am Hoarse from SCREAMING!!!
Tonight Seattle played the league-leading Minnesota Lynx. Minnesota came into the game with a record of 10-0. Seattle only had two wins, and they were both against the league-worst Tulsa Shock.
The first few minutes were back-and-forth, but eventually the Storm took the lead... and kept it!
Minnesota made a good run in the fourth (outscoring Seattle 18-8 in the last quarter), but the Storm HELD ON TO THE WIN!!!!!!!
I did a LOT of screaming. And clapping. And jumping up and down!
Tina Thompson was definitely the hero of the last few minutes. She got two key rebounds, and made her free throws to extend the Strom lead from one point to three. (Just a few seconds earlier, Sue Bird had missed her free throws.)
And remember poor Tulsa? They played Phoenix tonight and won! Good for them. ESPN writer Mechelle Voepel tweeted: "Was asked on a recent chat which would happen first: Lynx loss or Shock win? I didn't guess both would occur on same day. :)"
