More Storm Rumors
Jayda Evans reports that right after she posted the rumors about Tina Thompson joining the Storm, she started getting reports of Iziane Castro Marques returning to Seattle. "Izi" played for Seattle for several years, but has been with Atlanta since 2008. Jayda is skeptical, though, because she doesn't think there's room in the salary cap.
Swish Appeal suggests that adding Tina Thompson could help Seattle's three-point shooting, especially with Swin Cash gone and Lauren Jackson missing the first half of the season. In the comments to that article, someone points out that, "[Tina Thompson and other vets] no longer have national team obligations, so they’ll all essentially have a month break in midseason for the first time in their basketball lives. That should leave significantly more gas in their tanks for the playoffs." Jayda Evans also tweeted that she thinks Tina Thompson played so poorly last year because she was unhappy in LA, and might be more productive here. I'm still not sure we need two 37-year-old players, though.
In happier news, Svetlana Abrosimova -- currently playing in Russia with Sue Bird -- tweeted, "For all Uconn and Seattle fans!!!! Just want to let u all know that Sue Bird just had two amazing games in a row for UMMC!!!!"
