I'm Glad I Didn't Turn the Game Off!

No, not THAT game.

The Washington @ USC women's basketball game!

The game started out really rough for the Huskies. In just a couple of minutes, USC had jumped out to a 9-0 lead. UW had no points and no rebounds. I told myself that if it was still that bad 10 minutes into the first half, I was going to fast-forward, and not watch the whole game.

But! The Huskies rallied, primarily behind the hustle of back-up post player Mollie Williams. Point guard Jazmine Davis picked up her offensive effort, eventually scoring 18 points in the first half!

UW caught up a couple of times, but USC kept pulling ahead again. At halftime USC was ahead by three. In the second half, USC was ahead by as much as nine, but they could never pull away completely; UW stuck with them. Late in the second half, the Huskies tied the game up, and eventually pulled ahead! With less than a minute to go, USC was forced to start fouling, but the Washington players were making their free throws. Even when Mollie Williams (I think it was her) missed one, Regina Rogers grabbed the rebound and got the put-back.

In the end, Washington held on to win 67-61.
