Basketball!
UConn played (defending champions) Texas A&M today.
Those poor Aggies. They got smooshed. The only thing they "won" was rebounds. Everything else was all UConn.
My favorite player, Kelly Faris (junior guard), had a great game. During the broadcast they mentioned that she's officially playing the "four" this season -- and she's only 5'11'! [ETA: The most dramatic of her three steals can be found ~0:38 of the video here.]
Sue Bird was at the game. They showed her during the broadcast. Reporter John Altavilla (he covers the UConn women for the Hartford Courant) was joking on his twitter, "Sue Bird is still here. She might as well take a couple of classes." I'm guessing she's rehabbing from her surgery there.
Speaking of Sue Bird, some website called "gameops" declared "Sue Bird Racing" the best contest/on field promotion from 2011. This seems to be a national thing, too. Random awesome!
