Storm Win Their Second Pre-Season Game
(It helped that Sue Bird and Lauren Jackson played this one.)
Katie Smith and Belinda Snell sat out with injuries. Rookie Ify Ibekwe made a good impression. More information here and here.
In other WNBA news, the Atlanta Dream (remember them?) played an exhibition game in Manchester against the Great Britain National Team. None of the stars of the Dream played. (Injuries, etc.) So, it was the second-string of a random WNBA team against the national team of the United Kingdom. Final score? Dream: 82, Great Britain: 51. Ouch.
In non-WNBA news, a player for the Dallas Mavericks said this: "It doesn’t make a difference to me [if we play Miami or Chicago in the Finals]. You can suit up the (WNBA’s) Seattle Storm and we’ll play them." I'm going to take that as a compliment...I think?
