Not Quite as Predicted
The Massey Ratings website predicted UConn would beat West Virginia 72-52.
West Virginia scored 51, so they were close there. However, the prediction seriously underestimated West Virginia's defense: They held UConn to 57.
An ugly game. UConn was behind for the first half, though they pulled to within two by halftime. They pulled ahead shortly into the second, and -- other than a few ties -- stayed ahead for the rest of the game.
