More Celebration Stuff
I think it's cool that the other Seattle sports teams are honoring the Storm. Cool, and a little funny. (Are they hoping that the Storm's championship-winning will rub off on them?) Anyway, the Mariners are having a special Storm-honoring game, and the Seahawks/Sounders FC/Qwest Field chipped in to buy a "Congrats" ad in today's paper.
Slam Online, which is a website that I find to be East Coast-biased, does manage to have a nice article comparing the 2010 Storm to the 1998 Comets.
At the beginning of the season, Richard Cohen of Sports Page Magazine correctly picked the Storm to win it all. (Although he didn't have the opponent right. Or the number of games it would take. But still!)
This isn't Championship related, but I keep forgetting to post it. This article compares the 2010 Storm to the 1995 Mariners. It's unfortunate that the Mariners couldn't take their "Refuse to Lose" all the way to a championship. Unlike, say, the Storm!
