Miscellaneous Notes Before Tomorrow's Game
New York beat Indiana (boo, hiss!) and will play Atlanta in Eastern Conference Finals.
I figured out why I was rooting for Indiana: New York's star is Cappie Pondexter. Cappie Pondexter won two championships with Phoenix before demanding to be traded to New York. I've never heard a good reason why, so I find that annoyingly diva-esque.
Generally Jayda Evans writes about the Storm for the Seattle Times. Recently Jerry Brewer has a written a few articles. Does he only write about them when they're in the playoffs? Anyway, this one is about how a successful basketball team requires more than just a star (or two stars, in the case of the Storm) and filler players. You need to have a full supporting team.
In the comments of that article, someone linked to an article written at the beginning of the 2007 season (i.e. before I started following the Storm). It's about Sue Bird and how frustrated she was with how the 2006 ended, and how poorly she played in the playoffs that year.
