Not Your Normal Phoenix Game
First of all, Diana Taurasi didn't start. (Phoenix has clinched the #2 spot in the west, so they didn't need to win any more than Seattle did.)
Secondly, the final score was 78-73. Compare that to the previous Seattle/Phoenix games this season:
May 22: 95-89
June 6: 97-74
July 14: 111-107
July 27: 91-85
Notice the difference?
Both teams played their bench players a lot, but Seattle pulled out the win. Phoenix had the ball with less than a minute left, and their coach told his players to dribble it out. The crowd -- understandably -- booed.
A big thank you to Storm coach Brian Agler for not trying anything like that at Key Arena. He did all his starter-resting during road trips, and played to win at home.
