Cookies
Sometimes I wonder if the people who write cookbooks actually try out their recipes before they put them in the book. Or, if they do try them, can they count? Do they, for instance, understand how much a "dozen" is?
Last week I used a recipe that claimed to make 7-8 dozen. When I was done (and I was using a cookies press, so my cookies were all the same size) I had over fourteen dozen cookies.
This week's recipe claimed to make eight dozen. I got five and half. What's worse is that it said to prepare two cookie sheets, and then told me to make 1" balls and place them 2" apart.
Maybe they just have GIANT cookies sheets. And GIANT ovens. In a GIANT kitchen....
